The early part of February was extremely hot, which brought about earlier than normal ripening of the grapes. Milder conditions prevailed during late February and throughout March. Cooler temperatures ensured the progressive development and sugar accumulation in the berry, which was optimized in the ripe floral lime characters of Riesling at harvest.
