Buying Wine Online - Why 13Wine is Different

The rise of popularity of shopping on the internet saw a number of startup online wine retailers. However, when the dot-com bubble burst, a number of stores went with it.

Despite this, today there are still a number of wine sites to choose to buy from.

So why did these sites survive while others shut down?

In the past few years, some wine sites have spent large amounts of time investigating and analyzing their competitors and getting a better understanding their faults and ultimately what caused them to close down. Some companies have learned from their mistakes and made changes while others still continue to go the way they always have.

So what makes 13Wine different?

During the construction and setup of the site, extensive market research was undertaken to determine exactly what the consumer wanted.

One of the main faults of many wine sites was that they were too complicated to work out and too hard to get to the ‘I want to buy the wine now’ stage.   It was also found that consumers felt that there were too many windows to click through to purchase the wine. 13Wine has streamlined this process down to as little as three clicks.

The findings also turned up that customers wanted to buy more than just wine from online wine retailers. Customers were looking to choose and buy a range of alcohol whether it was beer, spirits, local or international wine or liqueurs. The range offered by 13Wine includes a large range of beers, spirits and liqueurs, along with domestic, imported and rare wines to choose from.

Another concern that was highlighted was the safe transport of wine to the buyer. Many customers were not re-assured that their wine was going to be handled with care or whether their order was insured in case of accidents or breakage.

Availability was also another concern that was raised amongst consumers. Some stores found that they could not guarantee to have all advertised and listed wines in stock. To overcome this problem, 13Wine has teamed up with local retailers and other online stores, sourcing wine from various locations and maximizing the possibility that the wine is in stock when the consumer orders it.

The final concern that was aired by online patrons was that of internet security. Customers wanted to be sure that when they buy their wine online, their payment details would be secure and would not fall into the hands of a third party. In recent years, many wine stores have switched to taking Paypal and credit card transactions via the Internet, which thanks to secure payment software, are now the most popular methods of conducting online transactions. 13Wine uses 128-bit encryption when processing transactions, ensuring that your payment details stay private.

13Wine is dedicated to ensuring that customers have an easy and secure online shopping experience, taking measure to make sure that every customer leaves satisfied when they buy wine online.
